The Reale Deal: Metal Detecting the Florida Treasure Coast, by Fred Banke

The Reale Deal: Metal Detecting the Florida Treasure Coast has been described as both the “most accurate” and “most updated” book on metal detecting the 1715 Fleet. Written for the detector novice or the Treasure Coast “first timer” providing the basics to finding the wreck sites and artifacts from them. This book is printed in full color, with illustrations, maps and photographs, for ease of location and artifact identification.

The Reale Deal: Metal Detecting The Florida Treasure Coast Part II

After five additional years of metal detecting and researching the Treasure Coast, I am only more convinced about what we don’t know. Of the 1715 Fleet locations found, none can be convincingly identified. There have been many best guesses when naming these wrecks, and the maps in my previous book, The Reale Deal – Metal Detecting the Florida Treasure Coast, have been acknowledged as the most accurate assumption. There have not been any 1715 Fleet ships identified by a bell or other method mentioned in this book. I have found other shipwreck beaches using the methods discussed in this book. The religious artifact is from one of them. It will take lengthy research to identify that artifact and its period; knowing this information may help identify the wreck’s name. Members of the Treasure Coast Archeological Society (TCAS) have successfully found cobs dating from the 1500s to the 1800s, identifying additional wreck site beaches. I hope the information in this book is helpful to you in finding your shipwreck beach. The Reale Deal Metal Detecting the Florida Treasure Coast books are available at: Myers Detectors.

The Northern Plains are rich in history, tales of Lewis & Clark, Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, and Custer.

As the Indian land was taken, they were forced onto reservations, deprived of their traditional ways.
Forts were built to accommodate the military, whose job was to protect the settlers, gold prospectors, railroads, and travelers heading West.

This book contains information on some of the forts, conflicts, battlefields, massacres, and individuals responsible.
THE REALE DEAL is a series of books covering history, and the artifacts I have found metal detecting along the way.
